Cruise Terminal 3

Client: Ivey’s Construction
Owner: Canaveral Port Authority
Description: Ivey’s Construction was awarded the $78.98 million contract for Cruise Terminal 3, and we were chosen as the structural steel fabricator and erector. The state-of-the-art, 188,000 sq. ft. terminal is two stories and will be the home port for Carnival Cruise Line’s largest cruise ship, the Mardi Gras.

With a futuristic design inspired by nearby Kennedy Space Center, CT-3 is part of the Port’s largest single construction project in its 65-year history – a $163 million complex. With a maximum capacity of 6,500 passengers and about 2,000 crew members, the Mardi Gras will be the first North American-based cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas.
The vessel also will be the first cruise ship to feature a roller coaster, which will be called BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster.
