IMG Academy

Client: Tandem Construction Owner: IMG Academies, LLP Description: We are proud to have been the structural steel fabricator and erector for several projects with our client, Tandem Construction, for IMG Academy. First, we built the Academic Center which opened in 2015 and quadrupled the size of on-campus facilities. The Campus Center also opened, offering more dining services and recreational options and an upgraded health services and guest reception area. In 2016, we built the Performance and Sports Science Center, featuring the new home of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, new weight room and expanded rehabilitation facilities. And most recently in 2020, we expanded the Academic Center with 30,000 square foot that includes more classrooms, meeting space, hands on engineering labs and fully functioning broadcast and audio recording studios. IMG Academy is the world’s most prestigious sports, performance and educational institution. IMG continues to set the standard for total academic, athletic and personal development in youth student-athletes. The 600-acre, Bradenton, Florida campus annually attract hundreds of teams, groups and events for training and competition.

Waterside Town Place

Client: Willis Smith Construction Owner: Schroeder – Manatee Ranch Description: Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch is in-progress for our client, Willis Smith Construction. This project is scheduled to be completed in 2020, and will have 100,000-square-feet of retail, restaurant and office space, as well as hundreds of apartments, all within walking distance of the largest of Waterside’s seven lakes. Waterside Place will be at the heart of the new Waterside community, south of University Parkway, and east of Interstate 75 where more than 5,000 homes are planned. Just as Lakewood Ranch Main Street became the heart of the Manatee County portion of Lakewood Ranch, Waterside Place is expected to become the heart of the Sarasota County portion. But its mix of dining and entertainment attractions are expected to make it a destination for residents and visitors well beyond Waterside.

Renaissance Meeting Room Expansion

Client: Welbro Building Corporation Owner: Renaissance at Sea World Description: This project, built for our client, WELBRO, is a meeting space expansion for Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. The project added 46,250 sq. ft. of new construction including a new 16,000 sq. ft. ballroom with the ability to be divided into multiple smaller rooms. Also included were seven, 1,200 sq. ft. meeting rooms, spacious pre-function areas, and over 15,000 sq. ft. of interior renovations.

City Furniture

Client: Schmid Construction Owner: City Furniture Description: This City Furniture in Orlando hosts this retailer’s largest showroom to date, spanning 2-stories and totaling 120,000 sq. ft. Built for our client, Schmid Construction, this project is an open floor plan that includes an accessory gallery, wine bar, cafe, escalator, glass-front passenger elevator as well as staff offices, storage space, a breakroom, and restrooms. The exterior features 170 parking places including 6 electric car charging stations.

Sebastian River Medical Center

Client: Suffolk Construction Owner: Steward Health Care Description: Built for our client, Suffolk Construction, this $65 million expansion of Sebastian River Medical Center will add 90,000 sq. ft. with 48 private patient rooms, bringing the total number of licensed, inpatient patient beds to 202, an increase of 31%.

Cruise Terminal 3

Client: Ivey’s Construction Owner: Canaveral Port Authority Description: Ivey’s Construction was awarded the $78.98 million contract for Cruise Terminal 3, and we were chosen as the structural steel fabricator and erector. The state-of-the-art, 188,000 sq. ft. terminal is two stories and will be the home port for Carnival Cruise Line’s largest cruise ship, the Mardi Gras. With a futuristic design inspired by nearby Kennedy Space Center, CT-3 is part of the Port’s largest single construction project in its 65-year history – a $163 million complex. With a maximum capacity of 6,500 passengers and about 2,000 crew members, the Mardi Gras will be the first North American-based cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas when she goes into service in fall 2020. The vessel also will be the first cruise ship to feature a roller coaster, which will be called BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster.
